Commissioner of NCC, Wang Jiang-Jia, invited to attend the Regulators Roundtable of Mongolia Forum as panelist, held by International Institute of Communications (IIC). Commissioner Wang shared the experience and goals of governance in digital era at the Mongolia Online Forum on July 5th 2023.

Commissioner Wang stated that the rapid change in the digital communications environment and service brings both convenience and challenges to people’s lives. Regulators must optimize policy-making in order to respond to the current era’s needs. He shared the most concerned issues of internet governance, including “disinformation”, “fraudulent activities”, “dissemination of illegal sexual images and videos”, etc. The Executive Yuan have implemented prevention policies and have also promoted law amendments to relevant regulations pertinent to these issues. NCC has also actively cooperated with related departments, and co-governed with private sectors.

Regarding the internet governance issues, Commissioner Wang Jiang-Jia also mentioned that NCC would encourage internet platform companies to be self-disciplined through public-private conversation, cooperate with other related departments to jointly protect the internet order, gain greater understand of the trends of internet and communications through internet surveys, and improve literacy on internet and communications with the aim of protecting the freedom of speech, users’ rights and building a safer and more reliable internet environment.
