In accordance with Item 2 of Article 13 of the Telecommunications Universal Service Regulations authorized and approved by Item 1 and 4 of Article 20 of the Telecommunications Act.
Announcements:
- Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. has been appointed to provide universal service for data communications access in 10 uneconomic regions covering 5 counties: Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Hualien County, Chiayi County and Taitung County, 5 towns, 7 villages, 10 tribes (neighborhoods). The universal service project of the company for data communications access in uneconomic regions in 2010 approved by NCC is shown on the attached table and on the webpage of “Announcements” under “Information” on NCC website (Website: https://www.ncc.gov.tw).
- Taiwan Fixed Network Co., Ltd has been appointed to provide universal service for data communications access in 1 uneconomic region in the 2nd Neighborhood of Yixing Village in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County. The universal service project of the company for data communications access in uneconomic regions in 2010 validated by NCC is shown on the attached table and on the webpage of “Announcements” under “Information” on NCC website (Website: https://www.ncc.gov.tw).
- Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. and Taiwan Fixed Network Co., Ltd., designated to provide uneconomic regions with universal service for data communications access, shall comply with the Telecommunications Act and Telecommunications Universal Service Regulations to amend and propose the universal service project of 2010 on data communications access for uneconomic regions and present requested subsidy within one month from the next day the announcement is issued. The net cost of the project will be included in the universal service project on data communications access for uneconomic regions and in the requested subsidy of 2011. After they are ratified, the estimates for the universal service projects of 2010 and 2011 on data communications access for uneconomic regions will be announced.
