NCC undertakes operation survey of the first half of 2022

The NCC has already begun conducting the operation survey of the first half of 2022. According to Article 22 and paragraph 1 of Article 43 of the Satellite Broadcasting Act, a satellite broadcasting business, or the branch office or agent of foreign satellite broadcasting business, shall submit an operation status of its system to NCC.

In order to ascertain the most up-to-date conditions of the communications industry and the operation of satellite broadcasting businesses in Taiwan, NCC undertakes regular surveys every April and October. The survey includes items such as fee standards, broadcasting platforms, handling of complaints, authorization of copyright, and so on. Satellite broadcasting businesses that produce and broadcast news programs are also required to submit specific reports to NCC.

NCC reminds satellite broadcasting businesses that they are required to submit their operation status reports before October 31st, 2022; the system will be closed after deadline. If a business is unable to complete its filing in time, they shall be warned and may be subject to a fine in accordance with Article 58 or paragraph 4 of Article 63 of the Satellite Broadcasting Act.
