In order to safeguard consumer rights and implement personal data protection, NCC has requested telecommunication operators to revise their "Mobile Broadband Service (4G/5G) Standardized Service Contract Terms."
The key points of the revision is to ensure the following:
1. Personal data cannot be used for purposes other than those originally intended without the user's consent.
2. In alignment with the government's support for AI development, operators are permitted to make use of user data in a reasonable manner when it is objectively impossible to restore or identify individuals.
3. Users have the right to opt-out and request the removal of their personal data from the telecom operator at any time.
4. Operators are required to disclose information such as "Personal Data Notification and Consent Form" to users in an appropriate manner, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.
These changes will further enhance the protection of personal data, allowing consumers to use telecommunication services with more peace of mind.
