Commissioner Po-Zong Wong reappointed to serve as Vice Chairperson of National Communications Commission; newly appointed Commissioners Teng,Wei-Chung and Yeali Sun to begin terms from August 1, 2018.中文
  The tenures of incumbent Vice Chairperson Po-Zong Wong and Commissioners Yi-Ning Chen and Ji-Sen He conclude on July 31, 2018. In accordance with Item 3, Article 4 of the NCC Organization Act, prior to the appointment of new commissioners, the Executive Yuan Premier considers factors such as areas of expertise, as well as the need for alternation of terms of office.
   The Legislative Yuan, on June 25, 2018, re-elected Po-Zong Wong as a commissioner to serve as Vice Chairperson for a second term; meanwhile, Teng, Wei-Chung and Yeali Sun were also newly appointed as commissioners. The appointments have gained consent from the Executive Yuan and their tenures will run from August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2022.
  As Vice Chairperson, Po-Zong Wong has been re-elected to serve a second term. His areas of expertise encompass telecommunications, microwave engineering, spectrum monitoring, and communications supervision. Prior to serving as a commissioner, he has served as deputy director and director of the NCC Southern District Supervision Office, and the director secretary of the NCC.
  Newly appointed Commissioner Teng,Wei-Chung is a former associate professor of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and the also served as vice chairperson of the Consumers’Foundation, Chinese Taipei, and holds a doctorate of engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Commissioner Teng’s expertise includes information engineering, computer network communication protocols, forward-looking network architecture, wireless and Sensing network, multi-resolution image and virtual reality, among others. He was a special researcher at the University of Tokyo, Japan, as well as an assistant manager and manager of Box Solutions Corp.
  Newly appointed Commissioner Yeali Sun is a former professor at the Department of Information Management, National Taiwan University, and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her expertise covering information fields includes the internet, mobile communications, malware analysis and forensics, cloud service security, performance management, network and system performance evaluation and analysis, information security, and action security. She was also a researcher at Bell Communications Research Office in the United States, a chief reviewer of the Science and Technology Program of the Executive Yuan, and has participated in various major scientific and technological projects in Taiwan.
