iWIN Cyber Detective Agency Exhibition Booth Promotes Online Safety for Children and Adolescents During IT Month 中文
The 2020 Information Technology Month took place from December 2nd to 6th with the aim of enhancing awareness of cybersecurity and improve the public’s cyber security literacy. The Institute of Watch Internet Network (iWIN), under the direction of NCC, the Ministry of Health and Welfare and other governmental offices designed an “iWIN Cyber Detective Agency” theme for exhibition booths in which visitors were able to solve cyber security cases by role playing. Through these interactive activities, solving a series of investigations and puzzles, participants were able to learn greater awareness of self-protection while browsing the internet, becoming smarter users and avoiding scams and fraud, etc. The opening ceremony took place on December 2nd and was launched by Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) and other special guests. Meanwhile, Vice President Dr. Lai Ching-te visited the iWIN Cyber Detective Agency exhibition booths on December 5th.

The iWIN Cyber Detective Agency exhibition booths created a setting similar to English detective fiction and benefitted from certain props, such as Big Ben, a bus stop, and movie theater, and so on. The booths also highlighted a few major cyber security issues, including cyberbullying, privacy and security, private images, and online dating. Visitors were presented with various cyber safety puzzles that needed to be solved, creating an unique and immersive experience. By following the hints of the staff, participants needed to solve the cyber cases in their role as detectives. During the 5-day-exhibition, the iWIN booths attracted more than 26,000 visitors, who were presented with lively and interactive activities and, most importantly, were able to enhance cyber literacy and knowledge of safety online in the process.
