ECCT Chief Executive Officer Mr. Freddie Hoeglund, accompanied by seven other members of the organization, on November 2, 2016 visited NCC Chairperson Ms. Ting-I Chan to exchange views on recent developments of the communications industry.
　　Mr. Hoeglund first outlined the commitments and investments of ECCT in Taiwan, and also expressed his views on policy for accelerating 5G spectrum and the development of broadband in Taiwan.
　　Chairperson Chan explained how NCC and MOTC coordinate closely so as to effectively allocate and assign spectrum resources. The Chairperson also described based on the domestic demand and international trends, the commission places much importance on conducting regular assessments of market conditions and holding public consultations. By these means and with view to accelerating innovative applications, such as 5G and Internet of Things (IoT), NCC releases spectrum according to regulations.
　　With view to the development of broadband, Chairperson Chan respects the supply-demand market mechanism. She also mentioned how relative government authorities are eager to promote the national broadband plan and how NCC cooperates with other departments to strengthen network infrastructure deployment so as to facilitate a certain quality of broadband services at reasonable price.
