NCC announces the list of businesses applying for spectrum to operate mobile broadband services (4G)

　　TAIPEI, November 5, 2015–During the period from July 22 to September 4, 2015, the National Communications Commission (NCC) accepted applications for licenses to operate mobile broadband services (4G) in the 2500MHz and 2600MHz bands. Applications were submitted by the following five companies: 

Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd.
Taiwan Mobile Co., Ltd.
Taiwan Star Telecom Co., Ltd.
Asia Pacific Telecom Co., Ltd
Far EasTone Telecom Co., Ltd

　　In accordance to Regulations for Administration of Mobile Broadband Businesses and the resolution of the NCC’s 651st Commission Meeting, the license operations of services in the 2500MHz and 2600MHz bands nationwide. The licensing procedure will be in two stages. The first stage is the review of applications (to be completed in mid-October). After announcing the qualified bidders, the NCC will undertake the second stage, the auction, which begins Nov. 17 and is expected to run until the year’s end.
