In Accordance with Item 2 of Article 13 of Telecommunications Universal Service Regulations authorized and approved by Item 1 and 4 of Article 20 of the Telecommunications Act and 400th Committee Meeting on February 16, 2011.

Announcements:

  1. Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. has been appointed to provide universal service for data communications access in uneconomic regions covering 5 counties, 2 directly-controlled cities, 8 towns, tribes (neighborhoods) in 9 villages: the 7th to 8th Neighborhood in Linsen Lane of Yingshi Village in Datong Township, Yilan County, the 7th Neighborhood of Changhsing Village in Fuxing Township, Taoyuan County, the 1st to 5th Neighborhood of Tsuihua Village in Renai Township, Nantou County, the 3rd Neighborhood of Yonghe Village and the 4th Neighborhood of Yongfang Village in Chungliao Township, Nantou County, the 17th to 24th Neighborhood of Shangwu Village in Dawu Township, Taitung County, the 14th Neighborhood of Daai Village in Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County, the 5th Neighborhood and the 7th to 9th Neighborhood of Dongshi Village in Pingxi District, New Taipei City and the 1st to 11th Neighborhood of Tzuyu Village in Heping Township, Taichung City. The 9 remote construction sites (as shown in the attached table) for broadband service are planned to be established by the company which has been appointed by NCC in 2012.
  2. Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd., designated to provide uneconomic regions with universal service for data communications access in 2012, should comply with Articles 6 to 9 and Item 1 of Article 13 of the Telecommunications Universal Service Regulations and follow previously-planned construction sites for broadband by NCC. The net cost of universal service shall be counted toward the universal service project on data communications access for uneconomic regions of 2012. The project of the year 2012 shall be proposed by June 1, 2011, and the provider shall apply to NCC for universal service. After it is authorized, the universal service project on data communications access for uneconomic regions will be announced, and the two companies will be requested to submit the estimates for subsidies.
